Throwback Thursday: “The Making of a God” by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan

Monday, Dec. 1, marked the 29th anniversary of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s powerful lecture, “The Making of a God”, at the Final Call Administration Building in Chicago, Ill. In this 1985 video, you will not only see a youthful Warner, but you will also see Bro. Khalid Muhammad, who would later hold the post of national spokesman for the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam from 1991 until 1993.

During his lecture, the Minister thoroughly examines and explains the ultimate truth to Believers about Ramadan,the holy day of fasting for the Muslim community, as well as the importance, need and benefit of fasting as taught by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. The Minister also touched on the natural essence of fire in all living things and how to gain control of the fire of our own being.

“We can tell that we are spiritually sick, because if we are disconnected from the Lord of Creation, we do not manifest in our activity that we know Him… The very fact that you are not only steep with self-hatred, but with a self defeating, debilitating,inferiority feeling that makes you not even want to connect with one another, this is a sickness. We are socially diseased…This is a moral sickness. So when we attempt to go back to Almighty God and attempt to be cured of our sickness, we are on a journey and we need a doctor because we are doing this in the midst of our enemies. So the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, in direct obedience to the Quran, chose for us a like number of days…”
