This young FOI, entrepreneur and visionary, represents the Messenger well when he once said, “If you can’t find a job, create one.” 16-year-old Ayinde Muhammad is doing for self as the owner of Ayinde Family Ties, where he hand-makes bow-ties. Muhammad was inspired to make bow-ties at the age of 14, following an arts and crafts school assignment. Wanting to be different, Muhammad put the color pencils and construction paper away and started a search for fabric, instead.
Customers can shop online for Ayinde Family Ties products, where bow-ties are styled with various color combinations and handkerchiefs to match. Color combinations include, black, blue, brown, gold, and red, with patterned designs like green, tan and white. Customers can also sign up to receive deals on bow-ties. Prices range between $9 and $12. For the remainder of the month, a portion of the proceeds for every bow-tie sold will be donated to the Muhammad Economic Blueprint Program.
