As we get ready for Saviours’ Day 2015, we thought about a historic day in February 25, 1990 when the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan addressed over 2,000 people on point No. 12 of What the Muslims Believe program, during his Saviours’ Day address at Mosque Maryam. The topic was “Why Do We Believe That Allah Came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad: The Sun Rising From the West.” Thousands more listened throughout the U.S. via satellite.
“I want you to listen like you’ve never listened before. I want you who are Muslims to listen with a critical ear. I want you who are Hebrews to listen with a critical ear. Christians, please, listen with a critical ear because I’m about to say something that might cause you to think much differently than you’ve ever thought before about your scripture… if Elijah Muhammad Muhammad put that sentence (point #12) on the back page of the paper that ‘God appeared in America for you and me’, was he guilty of setting up a rival or a partner with God? If this that we are apart of is shirk, then we are committing the gravest sin in Islam. But, if we are not guilty and you reject the guidance of Al Mahdi, what kind of sin are you committing?” -The Hon. Min. Louis Farrakhan.
